From carpet design to photography and cinema, from painting to curatorial practice—a multifaceted artistic journey… Contemporary artist Mohsen Mohammad Zadeh, with 26 years of experience, brings universal themes onto his canvases, while in his new series he questions the boundaries between the visible and the invisible.
Based in Istanbul, artist and curator Mohsen Mohammad Zadeh stands out by weaving together different artistic disciplines, excelling both through his individual creations and his international projects. Alongside painting, he has worked in carpet design, photography, and cinema. In 2000, at the age of just 16, he won first prize in Iran’s national carpet design competition. During his university years, he produced photographic works, directed short films, and gained experience as an actor.
His 26-year career in painting has extended far beyond Turkey, reaching audiences in Italy, France, the United States, Bulgaria, Georgia, and Qatar. In Italy in particular, he has taken part in events such as EuroExpoArt (Vernice Art Fair, Forlì) and Parma Art Fair; he also exhibited at the Fonderia delle Arti in Rome with the show Sintesi Iran, where his works were met with great interest from both critics and the public.

His latest series, “Beyond Perception,” opens a subtle veil between what is seen and what remains unseen. Figures of animals, humans, and plants emerge—sometimes clearly defined, sometimes shrouded in mist—only to dissolve and vanish into another dimension. These forms are not merely physical presences but echoes of memory, intuition, and existence. Each canvas poses the question: “Does what we call reality truly exist, or is it only what we wish to see?”
Recently presented across different platforms, this series has offered audiences a chance to experience the fragile boundary between being and nothingness.
Yet, Mohsen Mohammad Zadeh is not only a painter. He is also a visionary curator and gallerist. Through the Nidra Art Project, which he founded in 2016, he has organized more than 70 international exhibitions, bringing together over 4,500 artists worldwide. These projects have become more than exhibitions; they have grown into platforms for intercultural dialogue and universal unity.
Today, with his artistic creations and curatorial vision, Mohsen Mohammad Zadeh occupies a unique place in the contemporary art world. His works remind us of art’s greatest gift: not to provide answers, but to inspire questions.
