Necrosis
40*40 cm
Acrylic on canvas
170 $
Necrosis explores the fragile boundary between vitality and internal decay.
The figure appears intensely alive, yet the surface reveals rupture and deterioration.
Through exaggerated features and aggressive color, the work resists idealized beauty and exposes the body as a site of tension, where identity slowly erodes beneath a performative exterior.

Portrait of Lucy
30*40 cm
Acrylic on canvas
170 $

Portrait of Lucy captures a moment of emotional withdrawal.
The figure folds into herself, suggesting introspection and quiet tension. Rather than defining identity, the painting holds Lucy in an unresolved state, emphasizing inner complexity over outward representation.

ROSITA SARRAF Contemporary Visual Artist | Art Dealer | Collector Istanbul, Turkey | +90 546 428 60 12 | rosita.sarraf@gmail.com ARTIST STATEMENT Rosita Sarraf is a contemporary visual artist whose practice moves between abstract expression and expressive figuration. Working across painting, photo based interventions, and digital media, she explores identity as a constructed and unstable surface. Recurring motifs such as masks and clown like figures function as psychological structures where performance, distortion, and emotional tension intersect. In recent works, she paints directly over photographic images, disrupting the authority of the image and creating a dialogue between reality and manipulation. Her process is driven by gesture, layering, and controlled disruption, reflecting an ongoing investigation into fragmentation, memory, and visual instability. PROFILE Contemporary visual artist with over 15 years of professional experience across the art ecosystem, including exhibitions, private sales, gallery based sales, and sustained collaboration with collectors, galleries, and art dealers in Iran and internationally. Alongside her studio practice, she has worked as an art dealer and collector, developing a strong understanding of market structures, collector relations, curatorial positioning, and the presentation of artworks in both commercial and exhibition contexts. Her visual language is rooted primarily in abstract expression and expressive figuration. Across multiple bodies of work, she engages themes of identity, performance, memory, surface, and emotional fracture through distortion, layering, and gestural mark making. Important series within her practice include Masks and Clowns, paintings on photographic images, and recent digital art explorations. ARTISTIC PRACTICE Primary media include painting, mixed media, photo based interventions, and digital image work. Her practice often begins with an image, figure, or psychological tension that is then disrupted through painterly intervention. The result is a space between representation and erasure, where the image becomes unstable and emotionally charged.
